Communities affected by the conflict in Medio Baudo received humanitarian aid

The Victims Unit coordinates care for several families on Misará and Oro Chocó rivers, who suffer the consequences of the actions of illegal armed groups in the region.

A total of 10 tons of humanitarian aid, consisting of hygiene kits and food kits, received the families in the basins of the Misará and Oro Chocó rivers, jurisdiction of the municipality of Medio Baudo (Chocó).

The communities that were affected are: Agua Clara, Albaca, Callemanza, Ogodó, Retoño and Unión Misará, Santa Cecilia and Villa Nueva. The families of these populations were cared for amid the humanitarian emergency.

"These aid came at the right time, our children and our elderly were going through a difficult situation due to lack of food and it fills us with great satisfaction to know that the Victims Unit is not forgetting us", said María Vitalia Moreno Valoyes, Community leader of Unión Misará.

In addition, she thanked the entity for the organization in the delivery of each kit to the families: "You can see the organized work between the Victims Unit, the Mayor's Office and the Ombudsman".
