The Victims Unit deliver Special Accompaniment Schemes to families of San Jacinto and San Juan Nepomuceno
The projects to promote economic stabilization are aimed at families who are victims of conflict. These Bolivarian municipalities are part of the 34 targeted in the country for 2020, by the Victims Unit.
Thanks to the articulation with the territorial entities and the fulfillment of the requirements for access to the projects, 141 Special Family Support Schemes will reach the victims of forced displacement, in condition of return or relocation, from San Jacinto and San Juan Nepomuceno (Bolívar).
This was announced by the Victims Unit to the municipal mayors, after the exercise of raising the profiles of the beneficiaries and the preparation of business plans, resulting in the delivery of kits, in the second half of 2020, for restaurants, miscellaneous, fast food, clothing, beauty salons, bakery and ice cream parlor. In San Juan Nepomuceno, 84 business units will be delivered and in San Jacinto 57.
"We appreciate the support and commitment of these mayors to make the projects of these families come true. They come at a time when the municipalities need to reactivate their economy” said the territorial director in Bolívar and San Andrés, Miledy Galeano Paz.
The mayor of San Jacinto, Jorge Castellar, said that these projects will improve the living conditions of people benefited and the economy of the municipality will be reactivated. “We are going to give the opportunity to the families that with these benefits, reactivate their economic activity and also those who will benefit indirectly. Thank you so much for helping these families and more at this time”.
Similarly, the Mayor's Office of San Juan Nepomuceno thanked the victims for their support: “With great effort, many families in the municipality were favored. Grateful for all we have accomplished and may more opportunities come for our victims. Interaction with the population is highlighted to identify the needs as a family nucleus", said Dayana Ardila, municipal liaison for victims.
"We are pleasantly surprised because the approaches, due to the pandemic, were virtual and the results were seen, we highlight the commitment of the Unit and the articulation with the Mayor's Office", said Elsa Osorio, Secretary of the Government of San Juan Nepomuceno.
For the processes to be sustainable over time, the Unit proposes to the territorial entities support or incentives such as the delivery of raw materials and supplies; resources for working capital; access to entrepreneurship and business and commercial strengthening programs; promotion and publicity for business ideas; tax benefits for entrepreneurship and business creation; financial, commercial and business education; special permits for the implementation of business units, and access to credit lines to promote commercial activities.
