The Unit implemented community support schemes for more than $ 13,000 million, in 2019
Within this strategy, EEAC in social and community infrastructure were completed in 13 municipalities belonging to seven departments, for a value close to $ 1.748 million.
In the implementation of the Special Community Support Schemes (EEAC), in the 2019 period, the Victims Unit invested more than 13.000 million pesos, in support of 46 social and community infrastructure projects, of which, to date 23 of them have finished their execution.
Said completed EEACs are located in seven departments (Atlántico, Antioquia, Sucre, Santander, Cundinamarca, Meta and Norte de Santander) and the total investment exceeds $1,748 million.
Municipalities benefited
Antioquia: Dabeiba, Urrao, Yolombó and Yondó; Atlantico: Barranquilla; Cundinamarca: La Palma; Santander: Malaga; Meta: Mesetas; Norte de Santander: Ábrego, Teorama, Convencion and San Calixto, and in the department of Sucre the municipality of Sucre.
The Special Community Accompaniment Schemes are projects formulated from the actions identified within the framework of the approved Return and Relocation Plans, aimed at making the return, relocation and local integration process sustainable and are materialized through the development of initiatives that contribute to adequate access to the components of support in aspects of income generation, housing, health, education, means of subsistence, social and community infrastructure, among others, which satisfactorily promote community integration and territorial roots in the population benefited.
According to Yolman Osorio Solano, coordinator of the Returns and Relocations group of the Victims Unit, the entity, in coordination with the territorial entities and with the support of other interested parties, supports these communities so that the State guarantees the effective enjoyment of rights, through the design of these EEAC. "Effective 2019, the Unit implemented special community support schemes for more than $ 13.000 million, of which $ 1.700 million were in already completed social and community infrastructure", added the official.
Importance of EAAs
Osorio Solano also pointed out that the Special Accompaniment Schemes, as a strategy of the Victims Unit for the contribution to overcoming the situation of vulnerability, the strengthening of territorial roots and community integration, have been consolidated as one of the most important to carry out different tangible actions that benefit the population victim of forced displacement and that contribute to an active strengthening of a safe and conducive environment for the integration of people in the community, as a fundamental and necessary element in the reconstruction of their life project and thir family and social network.
Finally, the coordinator of the Unit's Returns and Relocations team indicated that the implementation of these EEAC has been carried out in 156 municipalities of 32 departments nationwide and that 58 of these municipalities are part of the Development Plans with a Territorial Approach (PDET), and that in these eight years of validity in the implementation of these schemes, more than 500 EEAC implemented at the end of the 2019 term have been executed, benefiting more than 200,000 people, with investments that exceed $ 26.460 million.
