The Victims Unit, through the Administrative Management Group and the Nariño territorial management, delivered 150 kits containing clothes, shoes, to accessories and others, to the Mater Record Production association, in charge of promoting the culture and promotion of the cultural artistic expressions of the population, mainly in children and young people residing in the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Tumaco (Nariño).

The delivery served as a prize and motivation to young people with urban talent who participated in the 5th festival of salsa choke 2019, held since July in the neighborhoods of communes 1, 3, 5, and 7 of this port on the Pacific.

For Walter Enrique Castillo, legal representative of Mater Record Production, in Tumaco there is a lot of talent however there are few options that support these initiatives as life projects. “The idea of strengthening dance and singing in vulnerable neighborhoods is born so that they have something else to think about other than war and violence. They meet, rehearse, and enjoy free time away from bad roads”.

For his part, the territorial director of the Unit in Nariño, William Pinzón Fernández, who made the delivery, congratulated the participants of the contest for the effort, dedication and discipline, reiterating that the Victims Unit with these donations does not intend to give assistance, but are a resource with a restorative vocation, with which it is intended to contribute to overcome the damage caused by the armed conflict, to dignify, and recognize the victims and their survival processes.

This articulation with the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (DIAN), stems from the proposal of the General Director of the Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, to strengthen the management capacity to allow the adjudication of goods to complement the care, assistance and repair processes integral, providing welfare and satisfaction to the victims.
