A total of 36 people who suffered the consequences of the armed conflict in the country and who now reside in the department of Quindío, received the administrative compensation granted by the national Government through the Unit for Victims.

The territorial director of the Victims Unit in the Coffee Axis, Laura Moreno, leaded the act of delivering a new compensation day, which was fulfilled in the offices of the Victims Unit in the capital of Quindío.

The event was attended by 36 people prioritized by situations of age, disability or illness, who faced the circumstances of the war in various corners of the national territory and who now reside in these coffee lands.

“We are giving a very important resource to these people who have been waiting for this reparation by the Government because of Law 1448, it is good to be able to fulfill this mandate by relieving people's hearts and at the same time rebuilding the dreams they had before of becoming victims”, said Laura Moreno, territorial director of Unit in the Coffee Axis.

On this new day, the Unit made an investment in the victims of $ 344 million pesos, rebuilding the social fabric in the victim families of Armenia, Pijao, Quimbaya, Calarcá, La Tebaida, Filandia, Córdoba and Circasia.

“I am very happy because I have been waiting for this for a long time and I am finally going to fulfill the dream of having my own house, at least paying a part with this money, I was always well served by the Unit and I have a lot to thank you, People tell him not to fail, we cannot be negative because hope is the last thing we can lose”, said Evelia Osorio, one of the beneficiaries in Armenia.

Abraham González, another of the victims who received the compensation, explained: “I am happy and grateful for this money that the Unit gives me today, without a doubt it is a blessing from God, with this I can invest in my business that is a store of groceries that are not very well stocked, but that surely with this money I will reinforce, I tell the other victims to take advantage of the opportunities that life gives us and that the money they will not waste”.

This day of delivery of compensation letters will continue to be developed in the cities of Pereira and Manizales during the next few days.
