Victims over 60 in the Coffee Region will receive emotional recovery sessions
Through their psychosocial component, the Victims Unit advances the strengthening strategy from the rights approach, in order to facilitate the process of emotional recovery of victims residing in the departments of Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío.
A total of 66 victims of armed conflict are part of the strengthening strategy with a focus on rights carried out by the Victims Unit, through psychosocial implementation sessions throughout the national territory. The actions are aimed at groups of survivors over 60 years.
Through this program, the entity strengthens the capacities of the adult population that suffered the episodes of war and that are still fighting against memories and wounds that do not allow them to have a better quality of life.
"Beyond the economic reparation to which the victims are entitled, it is fundamental that they can access the various activities that we advance from psychosocial care. It is useless to have full pockets and open wounds in the soul, so with these group and individual actions we are trying to heal and improve their living conditions so that they can be projected as an active part of citizenship", said Laura Moreno, director territorial.
This strategy is part of the measure of satisfaction and guarantees of non-repetition and is complemented by the component of adequate investment of resources with a psychosocial approach, designed for victims who have already completed the documentation process and validated their right to administrative compensation, all in order to enable the cycle closure of the repair process.
This action is composed of three meetings, which are identified as follows: "The roots of our past", "The present that sustains us" and "The future that I can build".
"The reality that victims live in the territory merits this type of space. It is a duty of the Unit and the State in recognition of the affectation that the war left us. With these workshops we can get rid of the pain we have inside and the Unit gives us encouragement to be able to move forward with our lives", said Enrique Castillo, one of the beneficiaries of the day.
The sessions began at the same time in the cities of Manizales, Pereira and Armenia. Once the three meetings are over, a new convocation will be held to continue advancing the emotional recovery of the victims in the territory.
