Victims of the armed conflict between 13 and 17 years of age participate in the emotional reparation strategy "Proyectándonos", through which it is sought that adolescents and young people exposed to the conflict in the department of Cauca, know their rights as subjects of special protection.
"Proyectandonos" takes place in four virtual meetings, with a sequence that can be arranged with the participants on a daily basis. In this, three moments of life of the participants are developed, which are: "The roots of our past, the present that sustains us and the future that I can build", which mainly seek the recognition of the history of life and the victimizing events, as well as the projection of the emotional, social, spiritual and economic life of adolescents in the not too distant future.
According to Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, territorial director of the Victims Unit in Cauca, “in recent weeks the country has had to face the disappearance and loss of many young people, one of the reasons why, in Cauca territory, we seek that the adolescent victims of conflict remember and recognize their rights through the projecting strategy".
"The complex situation that we are going through due to the pandemic has led us to continue working virtually, with reparative actions that aim at their recognition as subjects of high protection, so they must be empowered to assert their rights as young victims of conflict, under a responsibility social", explained the official.
And he added that, through these strategies, young people receive guidance so that their compensation resources are invested in a productive way, such as in education and projects that allow leadership in their community. "We provide tools that contribute to the development of dignifying life projects and we contribute to the symbolic reparation of adolescent victims, through actions of significance and recognition that generate guarantees of non-repetition", said Sánchez Cobo.
Currently, the Single Registry of Victims shows that the department of Cauca has 31.472 young people between the ages of 13 and 17 affected by the conflict in the department, which is why the Victims Unit works on emotional recovery and construction of a restorative and transforming sense, through the compensation resources that are intended for this population, contributing to the strengthening of their life projects.
