Sucre teens find their roots

The Su Territorial Victims Unit Through the projecting strategy, created the psychosocial virtual meeting "The roots of our past".

With the aim of positively transforming the existence of adolescents from Sucre who are victims of the armed conflict in this area of ​​the country, and at the same time providing support in each of their life projects, the Unit carried out this activity directed by professionals from the psychosocial area.

Adolescents between 15 and 17 years of age were the protagonists of this initiative that also allowed them to make a recognition of their life stories, identifying the tools that young people and their families have used to get ahead. Through striking and colorful drawings, the young people showed where and where their families going, highlighting their culture, beliefs, customs and tastes.

Isaac Hernández, Sucre territorial director of the Victims Unit, indicated that this strategy has served as great strength in transforming the lives of young people who have unfortunately been victims and added that “it is an activity that strengthens the comprehensive reparation process that it is provided to them from the entity because it helps them to train and be responsible in making decisions in the immediate future and also what they plan to contribute as adults in society”.

During the second virtual meeting of the strategy, "The present that sustains us", the adolescent victims of Sincelejo made known their musical talents through the playing of the xylophone, giving the activity a melodious and fun afternoon.

The psychosocial professionals assigned to the Unit provided the tools for emotional regulation by doing exercises of diaphragmatic and conscious breathing. This activity also consisted of a debate regarding the issue of human rights as a pedagogy for peace within the framework of the measure of non-repetition.
