In October the Unit delivered more than $ 1.700 million pesos to victims in Magdalena
The beneficiaries with the economic compensation were people over 74 years of age, with orphan or catastrophic diseases or with some disability.
Approximately 219 letters of compensation were delivered by the Magdalena Territorial of the Victims Unit during the month of October in the municipalities of Aracataca, Pivijay, Plato and the district of Santa Marta, with resources estimated at more than $ 1.7 billion.
The sessions took place over several days, complying with biosafety protocols and the victims received guidance on the appropriate investment of resources and the proper use of the money received in times of COVID-19.
María Cristina Becerra, victim beneficiary of the deliveries in the city of Santa Marta stated: “Today I thank the Unit for the delivery of my check letter to make my house since I have two children, thank you for this blessing that we receive today from Despite the pandemic we are going through, they gave us this money that we needed a lot”.
For his part, the territorial director of the Victims Unit in Magdalena, Jair Diazgranados, indicated that “they have been working jointly with the territorial entities to carry out the days of delivery of compensation letters in the department of Magdalena, with days carried out complying with all the biosecurity protocols required by the national order”.
In November, the Magdalena Territorial of the Victims Unit will be delivering more than 500 letters of compensation to victims affected by the armed conflict in this department.
