Nearly 200 survivors of armed conflict received administrative compensation in Putumayo
Through a formal act, the letters of compensation were delivered to people prioritized in the service routes of the municipalities of Puerto Asís and Mocoa.
The Victims Unit territorial Putumayo advanced the eighth day of delivery of administrative compensation with 193 survivors of conflict, in the auditorium of Comfamiliar Family Compensation Fund of the municipality of Puerto Asís.
With the interventions of the representatives of the Municipal Mayor's Office, Table of Victims of Mocoa and Puerto Asís and the director of the Putumayo Territorial Unit, the formal ceremony was installed.
The support provided by USAID through its Justice for a Sustainable Peace Program was highlighted.
A day that summoned survivors of several municipalities of the department, who attended the meeting with clear expectations of how they will invest the resources granted by the Colombian State.
Many of the testimonies agree that they will use them to improve their homes, this is the case of Ofelia Caicedo, a displacement victim who plans to invest in a cistern to store rainwater.
"That money will be used to make a cistern to draw water because sometimes the month arrives and without water, it's time to go out and ask the neighbors. For that reason the best thing is to make a well to have water", said the beneficiary.
During the meeting, the attendees counted on the advice provided by entities such as Colpensiones with its BEPS program and the Autonomous University of Nariño and the Unad, National Open and Distance University, who made known the institutional offer for this population.
In total, 1,213 million pesos were allocated for this day, significant resources with which it is intended to improve the Victims quality of life of the southwest of the country after the damages generated by the armed conflict.
