The Victims Unit delivered a total of about 975 million pesos that are part of the comprehensive reparation measures for people who suffered damages in the middle of armed conflict.

With a serenade for the elderly who received the letter of administrative compensation today and a workshop on the proper use of resources, the headquarters of Victims Unit in Bucaramanga began the day of delivery of 122 letters of notification of compensation to the same number of people affected by armed conflict in Santander.

In the event there was accompaniment of SENA, the National Savings Fund, the Secretary of Development of Bucaramanga and Floridablanca, the Agrarian Bank, among other public entities that are part of National System of Attention and Integral Reparation to Victims (Snariv).

The territorial director of Unit in Santander, Gonzalo García, spoke about the activities parallel to the delivery of the letters: "We tell our victims how to invest those state resources, we hope that they improve the living conditions not only of them but also of their family nucleus ".

One of the older women who received the letter with which she can go to the financial institution to claim the money and compensation, expressed satisfaction: "I am displaced, I am receiving my compensation and I will see if I buy or make my house."

Guillermo Valencia, a man who already received compensation and already invested in it, also made himself present: "I am displaced from San Rafael de Rionegro, the ELENOS took me out, a brother was killed, and because of that it was my turn to come from village; I already received the compensation and I invested it in the house where I am living, "he said smiling and with his son in his arms.

In the department there will be more deliveries of compensation in coming days. Compensation is one of the measures that are part of the integral reparation to the victims of armed conflict, to compensate in part the damage they suffered. The other measures are rehabilitation (physical and psychological), restitution (of rights), satisfaction (symbolic measures) and guarantees of non-repetition (works and actions that contribute to overcoming fear, anger, pain, rebuilding the social fabric, to overcome possible causes of conflict).
