Victims Unit maintains guarantees in the collective reparation process of Motilón Barí shelter

The Victims Unit has advanced in approaches and processes of the repair route with the subject Motilón Barí.

The Victims Unit has advanced in approaches and processes of the repair route with the subject Motilón Barí, but recognizes the lack of agreements for requirements that exceed the budgets allocated by the entity for this process.

The Unit in Norte de Santander has been developing an operational route of collective reparation with the Barí people from July 31, 2014 to date.

In 2018 alone, nine damage characterization days were held in the following communities of Barí people: sacacdú, ​​beboquira, isthoda, brubucanina, irocobigcayra, saphadana, iquiakarora, ayathuyna and caxbarincaira.

During the meetings held in places where the communities located in the municipality of Tibú reside, progress was made in the following points:

  1. Prior consultation for the Barí people in front of the opening of the safeguard plan.
  2. In May 2018, the methodology and work tools for operating the repair route were defined.
  3. The routes, logistic tools and generalities in the operation of the repair were defined under the conservation of technical team formed by the Ñatubaiyibarí association.
  4. In June of that year, the characterization of the damage and the data collection for the formulation in six communities was carried out in its first phase.
  5. In September 2018, the first day of socialization of advances made during the trips to the communities, methodologies and schedules was carried out.
  6. In this same month, the second socialization of advances of the routes made in the six communities involved in the process was carried out.
  7. The validation of information collected in the six communities that make up the Motilón Barí shelter was developed.
  8. In November of the previous year, the Motilón Barí technical team performed the damage characterization and data collection for PSB Barí formulation.

The Victims Unit maintains its willingness to move forward in the dialogues, with flexible agreements, adjusted to the budgets allocated by the entity for the development of this process that seeks to benefit the Barí community within the framework of collective reparation subject.
