In the midst of thick vegetation surrounded by tributaries, mountains and exotic landscapes that can be seen in the rural area of the municipality of Teorama, Norte de Santander, the Yera and Asambarigcayra communities of the Motilón Barí people live.

There is a group of boys and girls who at their young age see the world with their own reality with respect for their culture and traditions. A professional and trained team from the psychosocial approach reached the Yera and Asambarigcayra communities and shared a phase of the comprehensive reparation process with this child population.

Based on the "Mountain of dreams" a playful activity implemented by the Unit, the child population gave a glimpse of the future they project without losing the essence of their race or the ancestral roots that today frame a historical legacy. “It is satisfying to see how these boys and girls perceive the world from their reality and bet at their young age on peace. They are small in stature, but large in imagination, in the midst of their games and innocence they know the panorama that surrounds them and with their drawings and participation they showed us the power they have in knowledge and handling of issues, reflected in five and 10 years”, said the territorial director of the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca, Alicia María Rojas Pérez.

In their native language, they expressed gratitude for the support and involvement of the entity in these processes, which generates an active participation of the entire community. “Each child took a flower that contained a question of spaces that they shared with the wise men of the community, in the middle of games they placed it at the foot of the mountain, then they were given a card on which they wrote and drew how they imagine themselves in 5 years or 10 years”, said Rojas Pérez.

The Barí indigenous community is part of a collective reparation subject with which the Victims Unit implements the integral reparation route to formulate the PIRC (Comprehensive Collective Reparation Plan). “We are currently in the phase of characterizing the damage of the collective reparation route, working hand in hand with the members of these peoples who have allowed us to reach their territory and jointly advance in the reparation process in accordance with the law 1448”, added the official.
