Reconstructing the history of what has happened with the conflict to identify the effects that the war caused them is a task carried out by the Victims Unit and the AMUC organization, from the Pradera municipality, in Valle del Cauca.

This action is called construction of the Damage Diagnosis and is a very important input to define the Comprehensive Plan for Collective Reparation of this organization, which was recognized as a subject of collective reparation by the Colombian government in October 2018.

AMUC is the Municipal Association of Peasant Users of Pradera, made up of peasants from different townships and villages in this municipality, which has a history of 50 years of work.

“This Comprehensive Collective Reparation Plan (PIRC) will seek to repair the damage that originated in the armed conflict. AMUC was very affected, among other things, by the accusations, stigmatization, threats, homicides, displacement and the suspension of all its activities related to the work of community and peasant projects” said the territorial director of the entity in Valle, Luz Adriana Toro Velez.

The construction of the damage diagnosis is done in a participatory way in four work sessions that this time have been done in times of pandemic and with all the biosecurity measures. In the last one, we worked from two tools called “vignettes” and “colored cobweb”, which allow us to categorize the damages suffered by the organization, in order to project the remedial actions that may take place.
