Unit for Victims strengthens the emergency care system in Nariño and Cauca

Within the framework of the Ministerial Security Council for the departments of Cauca and Nariño, the Unit presented the progress of assistance, attention and accompaniment to municipal administrations, including early warning 036.

Within the framework of the Ministerial Security Council for the departments of Cauca and Nariño, led by the Minister of Defense, Carlos Holmes Trujillo García, and by the Deputy Minister of Defense for Strategy and Planning, Jairo García, the Victims Unit He presented the progress of assistance, care and accompaniment to the municipal administrations of Nariño: Policarpa, Leiva, El Rosario, Cumbitara and Taminango, and of Cauca, Mercaderes and Balboa.

During the council, Ramón Rodríguez, director of the Victims Unit, pointed out that “these spaces allow a review of the situation that occurs in the different territories, the purpose is to review the dynamics of the conflict, the risk situations of the population and as a Unit we were able to present the support that we have provided to the municipal mayors, training them, updating the contingency plans in order to attend to humanitarian emergencies that arise and coordinating resources for immediate humanitarian assistance" .

Similarly, director Rodríguez added that “we are providing shelters, strengthening the response capacity when a humanitarian emergency arises, strengthening, through the coordination of the transitional justice committees, the public policy of victims in the territory”.

For their part, the governors of Cauca and Nariño, and the mayors of the seven municipalities presented a diagnosis of the public order situation in the area, in the company of the Public Ministry.
