In Remedios, more than 220 children get benefit with two schools

The Victims Unit and the municipal administration made the dream of studying in better conditions to more than 220 children in this municipality of northeast Antioquia.

With an investment of around $ 250 million, the Victims Unit, in coordination with the municipal administration, inaugurated two schools located in Lejanías and Carizzal villages in the municipality of Remedios, where more than 220 children will be able to have a place in better conditions to carry out their school and recreational activities.

After five hours of walking from the urban center of Remedios, the officials of the Mayor's Office and those of the Victims Unit, came to visit these children in the company of vallenatos group of the house of culture to brighten the day and inaugurate the works delivered to the population.

Lina Maria Londoño, teacher of the institution in Carrizal Vereda, said that with the new work, the school, community and social climate of both students and teachers is greatly improved, so they are happy to have this place for everyone to enjoy.

For his part, Jorge Mario Alzate, director of Victims Unit in Antioquia, said that "the two social and community infrastructure works are part of the process of prevention and attention to the population victim of armed conflict that the National Government attends to. Through the Unit for Victims, in order to improve precarious situations in which some populations perform collective activities, as are the academic for this case.

Likewise, Alzate added that "with the improvement of infrastructure for the children and young people of these populations, it facilitates not only the academic activities but to provide a healthy environment of reconciliation and tranquility, which is what is now breathed in these areas that previously because of armed conflict were inaccessible. "

Additionally, Olga Benítez, president of the community action board of Lejanías village, said that "with this official delivery of the school for our village Lejanías, we are very happy to have a worthy space for our children in which for more than 20 years we had a school built by ourselves in a table, thanks to the UARIV, to the municipal administration that could make this dream come true ".

In Antioquia, the Victims Unit has invested 2.7 billion pesos between 2012 and August 2018 in social and community infrastructure works, improving the conditions of the population most affected by armed conflict in this region of the country.
