With new community booths, attention is strengthened in two villages of Caicedo, Antioquia

In the villages of El Chochal and El Encanto, of Caicedo, a municipality in western Antioquia, the Victims Unit invested resources for 85 million, in order to strengthen the social fabric.

With an investment of 85 million pesos, the Victims' Unit, together with the mayor Germán Darío Zapata, handed over to the communities of El Chochal and El Encanto, villages of Caicedo municipality, two communal stands with which 124 families benefited as part of the actions of the entity to prevent victimizing events that affect this population of Antioquia.

The peasants of this remote mountainous area of ​​Caicedo, arrived enthusiastic for the inaugural act of the work that, for them, is a sign of the reconstruction that now breathes in this territory.

For Wilson Córdoba, director of the Victims Unit in Antioquia, "from 2012 to 2019, the entity has invested more than 3,000 million pesos in social and community infrastructure projects in the department".

The official also said that "this is done so that communities can regain their trust, strengthen leadership, resolve conflicts and coexistence, while retaking their social and cultural practices in order to prevent victimizing events".

In total, in this municipality, the Victims Unit has invested $ 24,636 million in compensation, projects and humanitarian assistance.
