Displaced people in El Tarra received humanitarian aid from the Unit

The aid was given to the residents of the municipalities of San Calixto and Hacarí that reached El Tarra, Norte de Santander, displaced by the threats of armed groups in the region.

Packages of food, personal hygiene kits, blankets, towels, mats, sheets, water purification tablets and even soccer and basketballs (as elements to entertain children), were part of the aid that Victims Unit delivered to the displaced that arrived at the urban area of Tarra in North of Santander.

Humanitarian aid was taken to town of Catatumbo. The territorial professional Santiago Medina, explained that inside the shipment were, in addition, mosquitoes, diapers for children and some kitchen equipment such as cauldrons and cans.

The beneficiaries were the families that arrived displaced at the beginning of October of the villages Guaduales, Filito de Oro, San Ignacio de Villanueva, the municipality of San Calixto and Manzanares, municipality of Hacarí.

Spokesmen of the group assured that they left their homes due to the pressure of the groups outside the law, that are present in Catatumbo. According to the registry that was made of the group, there are 33 family nuclei that moved on this occasion.

The emergency was initially attended by the municipality of El Tarra, whose authorities called a Transitional Justice Council to escalate the demand that meant the arrival of the displaced.

The covered coliseum of town became the place where some families were located, others are in the urban public school. The 33 families are made up of 103 people, 11 of them between 0 and 5 years old; 24 between 6 and 11 years old, 16 between 12 and 17 years old; 16 between 18 and 28 years old; 32 between 29 and 60 years old and 4 older adults
