60 newly displaced families in San Calixto received humanitarian aid

The Victims Unit delivered immediate humanitarian assistance to about 160 people, including adults and children, who arrived in the urban area of ​​San Calixto, Norte de Santander, displaced by the outbreaks of violence that have occurred in different rural areas of the country. Catatumbo in the last days.

According to the official report, the victims come from the villages Villanueva, El Bajial and Filito de Oro of the same municipality. The first displaced arrived last weekend and were received by the territorial entity.

The first humanitarian aid was delivered on October 8, after the Extraordinary Subcommittee on Transitional Justice, where the first 30 affected families were identified. They presented a statement of the facts in the Municipal Ombudsman.

The aids include food kits, toilet kits, blankets, bed sets, water purification tablets, towels, kitchen utensils, as well as some items for children, such as bottles and diapers.

To date, 160 displaced persons have been assisted, grouped into 60 family units, and the state of alert is maintained, because outbreaks of violence persist in the region. The professional of Prevention and Emergency of the Unit in Ocaña, Andrés Paba, continues to lead the operations.
