Leaders of the National Roundtable for the Effective Participation of Victims gathered to evaluate their achievements and challenges after two years of joint work. In Cartagena (Atlántico department), they had the last session of the group, who had been working in an organized way since the Participation Protocol was adopted.
The Victims Unit and other national entities supported the event, and listened to the conclusions, which were organized by victimizing events, and differential approaches (such as gender, age, and so on). The Victims Unit’s subdirector for Participation, Gabriel Bustamante Peña, said it was satisfying to see that moment: ‘This is a sort of closure of a cycle where we have been working together –public servers, leaders of victims-. In spite of the differences, even ideological ones, we have worked, based on dialogue and respect.’
