Victims of San Miguel del Tigre community, in Yondó, learn to "weave" trust again
In this first autonomous action of "Tejiendonos" strategy, about 30 people participated, including adults, children, youth and people with disabilities.
In the municipality of Yondó (Antioquia), with the community of the San Miguel del Tigre district, the Magdalena Medio Territorial Victims Unit implements “Tejiendonos” strategy, through training the community, within the framework of psychosocial support.
For Amparo Chicué Cristancho, Magdalena Medio territorial director of the Victims Unit, "initially we had planned to carry out the strategy in person and it was a challenge for the psychosocial team to carry it out virtually, but we managed to get it done".
With “Tejiendonos”, the Unit seeks to promote actions to strengthen the social network and generate bonds of trust between the communities that are victims of forced displacement and the host communities, within the framework of the return and relocation and local integration processes.
In this first autonomous action, about 30 people participated, including adults, children, young people and people with disabilities, whose objective was “community recognition, that they feel like citizens and that they express themselves about their experiences through manual work. They also painted a mural in which they reflected the way they represent themselves in the armed conflict”, added the territorial director of the Unit.
“Previously, a work was done in which the community states what elements they need to carry out the activity and the Unit, through the operator, sends them those materials for manual work, as well as the biosecurity elements and food for that day of work”, concluded Amparo Chicué.
