The Victims Unit socialized with international donors, the problems, progress and challenges facing the implementation of Law 1448, in this territory of Colombian Amazon.

The meeting led by the territorial director, Germán Narváez, before the representatives of UNHCR and Mercy Corps organization, focused on establishing the situation, actions and projects involving the victim population of department, and making visible those problems that affect the survivors and how the implementation of Law 1448 of 2011 advances.
Fernando Ramírez, Coordinator of Refugee Program of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, said that the victim population deserves attention not only from government offices but also from international agencies.
"The idea that remains after the meeting is that it is necessary to visualize the problems that are taking place in Putumayo, unfortunately the attention has been diverted to other regions of country. It takes more effort from the local authority and from some international organizations, so that the problems they have here in the department are more evident and are discussed in the national agenda".
On the other hand, Alexander Luna, coordinator of humanitarian assistance project of Mercy Corps, indicated that with these meetings with the team of the Unit they manage to articulate actions and duplicate efforts. "An encounter that was key because at this moment they are in a new phase for the construction of humanitarian aid project in the organization", he concluded.
In the department of Putumayo, the Victims Unit works in partnership with the UNHCR, USAID and the Mercy Corps organization in various cooperation projects.
