Articulation continues to attend to victims, in Santander

Territorial entities in this department adopted measures in favor of the vulnerable population affected by the conflict.

Barichara, Capitanejo, Suratá, Rionegro, Socorro, Palmar, La Paz, Molagavita, Carcasí, Floridablanca, El Playón and Florián, municipalities of Santander department, recently participated in the Transitional Justice Committees, together with the Victims Unit and others entities of the National System of Attention and Reparation to Victims (SNARIV), in order to trace the route and seek benefits in favor of the survivors of conflict.

During the meetings, which were held virtually, some of the municipalities accepted Decree 683 of May 21, 2020, which adopts measures related to the approval of the Territorial Development Plans for the period 2020-2023, with the objective of including policy in favor of victims.

In the framework of the Covid-19 emergency, the management of solidarity food vouchers for 80 families in a vulnerable state, who have not accessed the state programs, was achieved for the municipality of Socorro. This was stated by Héctor Rugeles Pimentel, coordinator of the Municipal Table for Effective Participation of Victims in this town, who added: “We continue to work so that the victim population has the protection of their rights, attending to the most pressing needs. The Board has been asking the municipal administration for access to connectivity to guarantee their right to participation”.

Through the committees, the security concepts were approved, which will allow responding to the requests for return and relocation of families victims of conflict, once the emergency period declared by the National Government ends.
