Officials belonging to the different provinces that are part of Boyacá department, participated in training sessions and technical assistance of the Victims Unit, on issues related to the implementation of public policy on victims.

The Central territorial management of the Unit, headed by Jorge Orlando Sánchez, specified different strategies with the objective of being closer to those who plan, execute, and control the effectiveness and materialization of said policy in the territorial entities of the department of Boyacá.

The strategy was called "Provincial Technical Assistance" and was addressed to officials of the municipal executive level, representatives and victims' municipal liaisons. In the development of the strategy, five days were held, by provinces, which grouped all the municipalities of Boyacá.

The sessions were held for three months, with five head towns in the provinces and grouping the territorial entities as follows: Chiquinquirá, covering the provinces of Occidente and Ricaurte; Sogamoso, for the provinces of Tundama, Sugamuxi and La Libertad; Tunja, which encompassed the provinces of Márquez and Centro; Soatá, for the provinces of Gutiérrez, Norte and Valderrama; and Miraflores, with the participation of the provinces of Lengupá, Neira and Oriente

The methodology adopted was a workshop type, which allowed an effective crossing of knowledge and experiences accumulated by officials in their daily work. 150 officials participated.

Boyacá is the second department with the largest number of municipalities in the country: there are 123 territorial entities. For this reason, the Unit decided to implement additional strategies for the implementation of the public policy on victims, with the objective of benefiting the entire population affected by armed conflict that inhabits that region.
