With an orientation workshop in the management of resources, the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca, delivered 92 letters of compensation in the east of the country.

The territorial director of the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca, Alicia Rojas, said that there were about $ 407 million that were delivered and "it is a very significant moment that brings us closer to the victim population, we are satisfied that the Victims feel a little compensated for all the pain, suffering and damage they have gone through. It is a way to bring them closer to the State, to feel that the State has not abandoned them and that they are with them".

The deliveries were made to beneficiaries of the municipalities of Cúcuta, Ocaña, Abrego, Tibú and Arauca, in an act that had as its epicenter the capital of Norte de Santander.

For their part, the beneficiaries expressed their complacency and acknowledged the State work in the midst of violent actions that, in regions such as Catatumbo, increase the number of victims of armed conflict on a daily basis. Older people like Herminia Romero, one of the beneficiaries indicated that "I am very grateful, I had to wait a long time but that day arrived".

Some beneficiaries already have the investment they will make with the resources. From Catatumbo, one of the most vulnerable areas for the victims was Víctor Salazar, who could not hide his happiness and mixed feelings upon receiving the letter. "I plan to fix my house and fix a plot that is abandoned and buy some animals like cattle", he said.

For the month of June, a new process of delivery of letters for the people registered in the Unified Registry of Victims in Norte de Santander and Arauca is projected.
