Victims of eastern Antioquia were prioritized for reparation
In days held in Granada, Cocorná and Sonsón, 164 survivors of armed conflict in this subregion received financial compensation.

Thanks to the priority route of reparation, 164 other survivors of armed conflict in the eastern Antioquia sub region received financial compensation from the Unit for Comprehensive Attention and Reparation for Victims to improve their living conditions.
The days that were held this week in Granada, Cocorná and Sonsón, included people affected by violence in San Luis and San Francisco. The majority of the beneficiaries are people over 74 years of age, with disabilities or catastrophic illnesses, who participated in symbolic acts of dignification, in recognition of the violent acts suffered such as forced displacement, homicides and forced disappearance of relatives, kidnappings, among others.
The director of the Victims Unit in Antioquia, Wilson Cordoba Mena, said that "these people are part of the 1,600 victims who, during May and June, are compensated in Antioquia with resources of more than 14 billion pesos as part of its integral reparation, being the eastern part of Antioquia the most benefited region".
The official added that "compensation cannot repair all the damage that the armed conflict caused in these people and their families, but we hope that well spent, contribute to improve their living conditions".
The beneficiary population was oriented to an adequate investment of public funds by institutions such as Colpensiones, Sena and the National Savings Fund, in areas such as housing, health, pensions, and savings.
Between 2012 and 2019, the Victims Unit has delivered nearly 977,000 financial compensations to survivors of the armed conflict in Colombia, with an investment of 6 billion pesos. Of them, more than 233 thousand victims have already benefited from this measure of reparation in Antioquia.
