Victims bet on making products for the holiday season, in Cúcuta

With training in Christmas ornaments courses, a group of women become entrepreneurs.

In order to strengthen the productive and generate income for their homes, women victims of violence in Cúcuta, were trained in processes of crafts and Christmas ornaments, taking advantage of the approaching time that is approaching.

Christmas centers, garlands, snowballs, dolls and cushions, among other products, are some of the handicrafts that a group of women learned to develop to become entrepreneurs with tools and techniques at very low cost for the manufacture of this kind of ornaments.

“We are very grateful and happy for this opportunity that they have given us, with this knowledge received during the training we learned not only to elaborate, paint and design this kind of ornaments, but to see in them a source of income that we can receive working from our houses”, said one of the women beneficiaries of the course.

The territorial director of the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca, Alicia María Rojas Pérez, highlighted the articulation of SENA in these processes that become entrepreneurship projects for that sector of the population, which sees in them a form of improve their living conditions with their own income.

"We hope that commerce in general, people from Cucuta and other sectors will support this kind of initiatives that allow these women affected by violence, grow in these ideas and entrepreneurship projects for economic growth and job creation", said the official.

The trainings were held at the headquarters of the Regional Center for Victim Assistance in the capital of North Santander. During the year, more than 200 victims of violence have participated in training processes in all types of crafts.
