Victims in Atlántico receive orientation to report fraud and extortion
Through an anti-fraud institutional campaign, the Victims Unit informs the victims of armed conflict the channels available to denounce processors, extortionists and false victims.

The victims of armed conflict and their families live exposed to deception by people seeking to obtain benefits from the Victims Law (1448 of 2011) and the government in a fraudulent way, without measuring the damages caused to this population of the country, the State resources, nor the crimes that they incur.
The Victims Unit in the Atlantic, in response to this problem, carried out orientations and socializations with the victims who come daily to the regional centers and points of attention, about the different channels of denunciation through which the victims can communicate with the Group of Inquiry and Protection against Frauds (GIPF), charged in the entity to address all complaints and claims for issues that have to do with fraud towards the victims of conflict.
This group analyzes the reports and complaints of users, officials, collaborators and other entities on the subject. The main types of complaints that are presented are: non-victims who make fraud to be included in the Single Registry of Victims (false victims); processors who are not part of any entity and seek to deceive the victims to keep the resources that the State gives them; misuse of humanitarian assistance resources that some victims use for purposes other than temporary housing and food; and irregularities with State officials.
Although the anti-fraud campaign is aimed at victims, any citizen can report irregularities or fraud committed by officials, victims or personnel outside the Unit, for which the following channels of attention are available:
- Free National Line: 01 8000 911 119
- Email to: grupocontrafraudes@unidadvictimas.gov.co
- Regional Centers and Victim Assistance Points
- Website of the Unit for Victims, where the forms and forms to report irregular facts are found
