"Victims and those affected by the attack on the Santander General School will be compensated"

The director of Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, said that "a new day will be advanced with the Ombudsman´s office, sensitizing the victims, so that they can present themselves and complete the documentation and we make the corresponding payments".

The Victims Unit is pending and attentive to pay attention to the victims and those affected by the attack that occurred at the Santander General Police Cadet School on January 17.

From the first moment, the entity is supporting the taking of declarations and working inter-institutionally so that payments can be made to the people who were affected. In the census that was made, we learned that more than 200 people were affected in property and in their homes, but the days that were held in March and another on April 6, only 21 victims arrived to make the corresponding documentation ", assured Ramón Rodríguez Andrade, director of Victims Unit.

That is why he made a call to those affected: "We are going to advance a new day with the Ombudsman´s office, sensitizing the victims, so that they present themselves and can complete the documentation and we make the corresponding payments," he added.

In front of the 21 cadets of the police who died for the attack perpetrated by the ELN, Ramón Rodríguez said that "we are going to advance a day with the liaison of victims of the National Police, and what is sought is for families to come closer to the Victims Unit so that they can place their declaration before the Public Mystery, they review all the information of the route and they can be attended within the framework of Law 1448 of 2011 (Law of Victims)”.
