At the Regional Center for Attention to Victims of Barrancabermeja (Santander), 92 letters of compensation were delivered, totaling about 559 million pesos, by the Magdalena Medio Territorial Directorate of the Victims Unit.

The beneficiaries of these deliveries were 82 victims of armed conflict residing in the city of Barrancabermeja and 10 in the municipality of Yondó (Antioquia).

According to Amparo Chicué Cristancho, director of the Victims Unit in Magdalena Medio, "we made the delivery by implementing all the biosecurity protocols due to the health emergency".

During the day, “support and advice were also provided for the adequate investment of resources, inviting people so that, with the money they receive for compensation, they invest in their productive projects, acquisition or home improvement, or education; Likewise, they were made aware of the anti-fraud campaign ‘Do not believe everything you hear’, so that they are not scammed by unscrupulous people and they were reminded that all procedures before the entity are free”, added the official.

For his part, the mayor of Barrancabermeja, Alfonso Eljach Merlano, who accompanied part of the day, made known to the beneficiary victims the municipal offer on housing and income generation projects through the Forpac office (Education for training).

It should be clarified that during the development of the day there was also the logistical support from officials of the mayor's office who collaborated with the biosafety protocol, making a socialization on the use of the facilities and on the accommodation and location of the victims in the time of compensation notification.

For the next few weeks, the Magdalena Medio territorial unit of the Unit plans to deliver more compensation in the municipalities of Puerto Berrío and Puerto Nare (Antioquia) and in Cimitarra, Landázuri, Puerto Wilches and Sabana de Torres (Santander).
