The Unit conducts pilot service days in Yumbo
This Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15, the entity will bring its services in person to the people affected by the conflict in this municipality of Valle del Cauca.
This Friday and Saturday, the Victims Unit carries out pilot sessions aimed at 250 victims of conflict in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca, in which they are guided on the care route.
This work, which is carried out by the Yumbo Mayor's Office, takes place at Manuela Beltrán school, applying all biosecurity measures to avoid possible COVID-19 infections.
"We are with three counselors, a zonal professional, citizen service professionals and the different dependencies of the local Administration, bringing service information to the victims of armed conflict", said Luz Adriana Toro Vélez, territorial director of the Unit in the Valle del Cauca.
In parallel, the entity heeded the call of the commission of the Congress of the Republic that follows up on Law 1448 of 2011 or Victims Law and that addressed the situation of Yumbo.
In this scenario, the local Mayor's Office highlighted the articulation and positive work that has been done with the Victims Unit.
“In Yumbo it is estimated that there are 8.024 victims of armed conflict, that is, 7.3% of the population. Taking a historical look, in this municipality we have delivered 8.992 money transfers for humanitarian assistance, totaling resources of $ 5.362 million. And in times of pandemic (from March 17 to July 31) there is a report of 428 households benefited by $256 million for this same concept”, said the territorial director.
