The Unit awarded compensation to victims in San Francisco, Putumayo
The beneficiaries of administrative reparation are those included in the priority route, which highlights a significant number of people over 74 years of age.
The professional team of the Victims Unit, under the leadership of Putumayo territorial director, Germán Narváez, delivered 84 letters to survivors of the municipality of San Francisco, in southwestern Colombia for an amount close to $ 400 million.
During the day the attendees received advice on the adequate investment of resources by the professional area of the entity, as well as learning about the various options that Banco Agrario has in its portfolio of services.
The event, which was held at the Convention Center of the City Hall of Mocoa, also had the presence of officials from municipal administration and representatives of the Municipal Table of Victims from municipalities of Colón, Sibundoy and San Francisco.
Beneficiaries of the compensation agreed in their desire to invest their resources in housing, health and food.
That was the case of Aturia Pinta, daughter of a displacement survivor, who stated that the interest of her mother (a person over 80) when receiving the resources is to be able to buy her own house.
On the other hand, Norely Osorio, coordinator of the Table of Victims of the municipality of Colón, expressed her joy at being able to accompany the population of the upper Putumayo in compliance with the measure of reparation, given the effects generated by the armed conflict.
"It's very pleasant to see the faces of those families. These resources for many will benefit them to improve their quality of life. I thank God and the Unit for the Victims first for having made this goal come true, even though the displacement has left us marked, "said the representative.
