With a professional team, the entity provided emotional and psychological support. Three of the four people killed were members of the same family from Norte de Santander.

In a first ceremony held in Cucuta, the Victims Unit, in Coordination with the sectional Prosecutor's Office of Norte de Santander, accompanied the dignified delivery of three skeletal remains to family victims of people who were missing in the municipality of La Esperanza, Norte de Santander.

With a professional and qualified team, the Victims Unit provided psychological support to the victims' families during the dignity ceremony carried out. “In the midst of the pain, we are expressing our solidarity with these families. We are aware of the harsh reality they face and that is why we are assisting them in the midst of the mixed feelings that the situation generates, without ignoring the emotional tension generated by knowing and viewing the information and the status of their loved ones", indicated the territorial director from the Victims Unit, Alicia Maria Rojas.

The official pointed out that the Unit is part of and accompanies the Delivery Protocol, adhering to the parameters established by the competent entity (General Prosecutor's Office), to guarantee compliance and compensation to the families who receive the remains of their relative, who was missing for years, until his burial.

Rojas Pérez added that during the delivery, it is sought, from the psychosocial approach and action without harm, that each family has the possibility of making informed decisions about each moment of the procedure.

She concluded that in addition to the legal work, headed by the prosecutor who coordinated the procedure, the Unit was in charge of guaranteeing the families access to other measures of reparation and satisfaction, by verifying and consulting the processes registered with the entity, by this reason a professional was available to inform and guide.
