SNARIV entities celebrated the Week of Inclusion for Equity in Barranquilla

The event was attended by representatives of entities from the national government's social inclusion sector and 25 victims of armed conflict who were compensated.

Within the framework of the Week of Inclusion for Equity, led by Social Prosperity and the Victims Unit, a public offering and compensation session was held in Barranquilla for 25 victims of conflict with the entities of the National System of Attention and Comprehensive Reparation for Victims (SNARIV) who are present in the territory.

The meeting, which sought to make public policies and the institutional offer for the benefit of the vulnerable and victim population, was attended by the regional directors in Atlántico of Social Prosperity, ICBF, SENA, National Center for Historical Memory, Mayor's Office of Barranquilla and the Agency for Reincorporation and Normalization.

During the event, held from the administrative headquarters of the entity, the 25 victims recognized for the acts of homicide, disappearance and forced displacement received notification and delivery of their compensation letter, which amounted to an approximate value of $ 205 million.

“There have been great efforts by the Colombian State to put an end to these acts of violence, and reaffirm its commitment to comprehensive reparation for the victims of conflict. For us it is of vital importance to direct our actions that allow a true reconciliation and a stable peace building”, expressed the territorial director (e) of Unit in Atlántico, Juan Guillermo Plata.

After delivering the letters to each of the victims, with whom a special biosecurity protocol was implemented to guarantee the prevention and isolation measures of covid-19, the director reiterated to the victims the importance of making good use of the resources received.

“We trust that this compensation will be an opportunity to start with their personal, economic and sustainable project that allows them to achieve their goals. We also understand the difficult circumstances that many people are going through during the pandemic. We invite you to continue working for social equity, for human rights, to continue putting all the courage and effort into their work. From the Unit, we will continue with our commitments, meeting our objectives”, concluded Plata.

During the week, the activities led by the Victims Unit and Social Prosperity will continue, including the administrative reparation of another 100 victims of conflict within the framework of a day to approach the offer.
