In this department, the Victims Unit allocated $ 2.464 million for the payment of administrative compensation in the first 15 days of September.
With the payment of compensation to victims in the department of Tolima, the administrative reparation measure established by Law 1448 of 2011 continues to be complied with, as financial compensation for the events suffered in the framework of the Colombian conflict.
The most recent transfer of $ 1.019 million made it possible to economically repair 155 beneficiaries, including 121 people through the prioritized route, which serves victims who, due to their age, illness or disability, are in a situation of manifest urgency or extreme vulnerability. in the terms defined in article 8 of Resolution 1049 of 2017 that applies exclusively to people aged 74 years or older, people with catastrophic, ruinous, high-cost, orphan, or disabled diseases.
This is the case of Manuel Gómez, displaced in 2004 from the municipality of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, who has a physical disability and who had the opportunity to claim his payment during the day held in Ibagué: “I have been here for 16 years in the Tolima, and with this money I will be able to invest to have a home of my own”.
Another 34 compensated people were summoned through the new strategy implemented by the Victims Unit, which is called the technical method. In this case, the victims who are on the general route apply through an evaluative statistical model in different variables.
Gelbert María Pinto, victim of the Tolima municipality of Saldaña, was part of the process, who, when claiming the resource delivered by the Unit, stated that “it is a dream that I never expected, but thank God that it arrived and now I plan to invest it in the purchase of a plot of land".
So far this month of September and within the framework of the new normal with selective isolation decreed by the national government due to the effects of the pandemic, the Central Territorial Directorate of the Victims Unit, with jurisdiction in this department, has coordinated days of delivery of letters of compensation for a total value of $ 2.464 million for the economic reparation of 403 affected by the armed conflict.
