In the workshop Building Country, the president, Iván Duque, congratulated the director of the Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, and praised the progress of Unit in the process of attention and assistance to all ethnic groups and Wayúu indigenous population from La Guajira.

After the director of Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez Andrade, intervened in the workshop building country and announced that the new Regional Center for Victim Care in the municipality of Riohacha would be inaugurated in November, the President extolled the work of Unit in the Guajira territory.

"In the next few days we will be putting at the service of La Guajira  victims, the second Regional Center of Attention to Victims in Riohacha, this had a cost of $ 1,450 million, of which we as Unit placed $ 1,150 million and the Mayor's Office of Riohacha contributed $ 298 million, "said Ramón Rodríguez.

Upon hearing this, President Iván Duque, highlighted the effort of the official and his team in this territory: "Very well, a great applause, that is great news for the community of La Guajira, I congratulate you for your excellent management”. This Regional Center will have the capacity to serve between 800 and 1000 victims of armed conflict on a daily basis.

The director of the Unit also highlighted the achievements obtained through the "Coexistence and Peace" strategy, through which the municipalities of San Juan del Cesar and Fonseca were attended, in which 1,700 compensations and 512 fiduciary assignments for children were delivered. , girls and adolescents; while at the departmental level, $ 9,067 million have been paid for compensation; as well as 12,088 remittances to 9,806 households for a value higher than the $ 7,200 million, reflected in humanitarian assistance.

In an ancestral department made up of clans and families, the Victims' Unit has obtained the reparation of 17 subjects of ethnic collective reparation, being the most advanced in the region, that of the community of Nuevo Espinal, located in the municipality of Barrancas, it is currently in the formulation of Comprehensive Collective Repair Plan (PIRC) and in the execution of the return plan; they are part of this plan of collective reparations, some Afro-descendant Community Councils.

Of these collective Integral Reparation plans advanced by the Unit in La Guajira, the Iguarán family of Epieyu Clan of  Puerto Estrella (Uribía) Alta Guajira township are part; Hernández Polanco family of the Ipuana Clan; Wayúu community of Clan Pausayu de Isijou; indigenous Wayúu Tawaira community; Clan Uriana and Ipuana de Houluy; Wayúu community, La Esperanza farm; Mayabangloma Indigenous Reservation; Wayúu community of El Rodeo; Wayúu Zahino Indigenous Community; Epieyú family of Clan Uriana; Village Wiwa Cesar-Guajira Owybt; Wiwa Village Guajira-Molino Resguardo de Campo Alegre; Village Wiwa Guajira-Magdalena Org Wolkushe; Community Council of black communities Curaçao Geovanny Vega; Ancestral Community Council of the community of La Peña, Afropeña; Ancestral Community Council Carmelo Banquet;

In what corresponds to the articulation in matters of co-responsibility - Territorial Nation, of the 15 municipalities 12 have been characterized, with Hatonuevo and Villanueva missing and the capital Riohacha, which is scheduled to take place on October 18 in a subcommittee that will allow organizing the technical assistance and the coordination of this process. On November 8, 2018, the National Subcommittee on Differential Approach will be implemented to further promote care in a differentiated manner to victims, taking into account their characteristics.
