More than $ 1,000 million in compensation letters are delivered in Nariño
With the call to the beneficiaries to have criteria in the investment of resources, 162 surviving older adults of armed conflict in the south of the country were compensated.
The Victims Unit in Nariño delivers 162 compensation letters in the municipalities of Pasto and Tumaco, giving priority to older people.
In the day of delivery of compensation, victims highlight the accompaniment and advice from the Victims Unit on comprehensive issues such as access to education, training for work, access to housing programs, health, productive projects and psychosocial accompaniment. The representatives of Ombudsman’s Office, Departmental Institute of Health, and Agrarian Bank also provided their accompaniment and offer in services for this population.
The director of Unit in Nariño, William Pinzón Fernández, invited to invest with criterion the obtained resources: "As an entity we seek that you, as victims, take advantage of these resources to improve your quality of life, either in acquisition or improvement of your housing, productive projects, among others, but that you can be sure that all this difficult process that has happened can reach a happy term. Our Unit will always have the doors open for you, and count all the support they require", he said.
During the meetings scheduled in Pasto and Tumaco, in addition to the delivery of resources, a psychosocial workshop was held with the victims whose objective was, through a symbolic act, to achieve the dignity of the elderly.
This benefit contemplated in Law 1448 or Victims Law, was delivered according to the schedule drawn up by the Unit:
