Fulfilling the biosecurity requirements, and in coordination with the Samaniego Municipal Mayor's Office, the Victims Unit delivered 100 letters of compensation, in a first day that was held this Thursday, August 6 and that will continue in the coming weeks with 101 more victims benefited.

In total, in the two deliveries an investment of more than $ 1.314 million is made to victims of the armed conflict selected thanks to the route established by Resolution 1049 of 2019, which prioritizes payments to people over 74 years of age, with disabilities or with any catastrophic illness.

Oscar Alfonso Pantoja, Mayor of Samaniego, praised the resilience of the victims: “Today we are extremely happy that this type of delivery is being made and that we are bringing news of peace to this territory that has been so affected by the armed conflict. As a municipal administration we are pleased to unite in this challenge and support the victims in whatever is required so that they can be repaired”.

For his part, William Pinzón Fernández, territorial director of the Victims Unit in Nariño, stated that “the entity is committed to repairing the victims of our department, for that reason and through coordination with the Mayor's Office and complying with the biosafety protocols, we have managed to deliver the compensation that most at this time, is of great help”.

The official reiterated to the beneficiaries that "despite the various situations that generate the pandemic, we are looking for solutions for their benefit, with allies, as in this case the municipal mayor's office, we continue to work hand in hand with you doing, as your hymn says it, to shine Samaniego”.

Finally, Álvaro Jesús Castellanos, municipal representative, invited the attendees to know how to invest their money well and save it, while the Victims Unit provided guidance on the appropriate investment of resources, hoping that the beneficiaries will take advantage of this income to improve their quality of life, and confirmed that all the procedures before the entity are free and without intermediaries.
