General Director of the Unit delivered compensation and food packages in Barrancabermeja
During his visit to Puerto Petrolero, Ramón Rodríguez also met with local authorities, the local table for the participation of victims and the media.
Ramón Rodríguez Andrade, general director of the Victims Unit, described his visit to the city of Barrancabermeja (Santander) as “very positive”.
During his presence in this port on the Magdalena River, the director met with local authorities, as well as with the Municipal Table for the Participation of Victims of Barrancabermeja.
He also made a tour of the facilities of the Regional Center for Victim Attention (CRAV), together with officials from the Mayor's Office and people´s Advocate, in order to review the actions to be adopted with a view to the gradual reopening of face-to-face care in that place. There, at the CRAV facilities, he also delivered 34 letters of compensation for a value close to $ 339 million.
One of the beneficiaries of the compensation was Noribaldo Miranda, a victim of Chiriguaná (Cesar) living in Barrancabermeja. "Compensation is a resource that makes us happy, it is good to be able to carry out short or long-term projects in a responsible manner. I thank the Government for delivering these resources", he said.
Later, Ramón Rodríguez went to the Daniel Villa Zapata stadium where he delivered 300 family kits (donated by DIAN) to victims of the region, in whose protocol act Rodríguez highlighted the importance of the extension of Law 1448 of 2001 (Law of Victims).
"I thank the team of the Victims Unit for the delivery of these nutritional kits that benefit Barrancabermeja victims in times of pandemic", said Nancy Galvis, representative of the Municipal Victims' Table.
The director also met with the officials of the Unit in Magdalena Medio and with members of the Board of Victims of Barrancabermeja, who were grateful for the delivery of the family kits "because they have been very useful especially in times of pandemic".
Finally, Ramón Rodríguez spoke to the media in the region where he announced the actions that the entity is carrying out to attend to the nearly 151.000 victims in the Magdalena Medio region, to whose territorial direction 21 municipalities of four are attached. departments, highlighting that, so far in 2020, the Unit in the region has delivered 1.673 indemnities for a value that exceeds $14.600 million.
