Female victims in Santander find a rebirth with "Vivificarte"
The Victims Unit in Santander implements strategies that seek to dignify and develop the skills of women victims of sexual violence.
The Victims Unit in Santander continues to develop comprehensive reparation strategies throughout the department, which seek to dignify victims at a psychosocial level and strengthen their life projects.
One of these strategies is Capacity Building, which with actions such as "Vivificarte" seeks to discover and enhance the capacities of women who are victims of sexual violence.
“Vivificarte” has assisted more than 60 women in Santander who suffered acts of sexual victimization and with these actions it is intended that these victims have an empowerment and minimize the pain through forgiveness and pedagogical activities.
Yolima, a victim of forced displacement and sexual violence, stressed that "this type of strategy that the Victims Unit does give us tools to be strong, to move forward despite what we live as female victims." "Sometimes it is complicated advance through fear, but these encounters teach us to value ourselves, not only as victims, but also as people”, she stressed.
The Victims Unit will continue with these meetings for women victims of sexual violence, not only in Santander but also in different departments of the country where “Vivificarte” strategy is implemented, which has served thousands of women.
