Families victims of conflict receive compensation in Jambaló (Cauca)
This new day of delivery of compensation letters exceeded 260 million pesos, added to the more than 700 million delivered in the midst of the pandemic to the population affected by the conflict in this territory.
The Mayor's Office of the municipality of Jambaló in the department of Cauca was the scene where representatives of 16 victim families received administrative compensation from the Victims Unit, in recognition of the victimization events experienced in the middle of armed conflict.
Beneficiaries such as Celso Rivera, state that, thanks to these grants, today they will be able to invest in aspects that will improve their lives: “I thank the Government because with this economic recognition I will be able to invest in the education of my daughters, since two have already finished high school, as well as in the improvement of my home because we know that these resources should not be wasted ”, he assured.
The delivery of these resources was accompanied by the Municipality, Secretary of Government and the Cauca director of the Victims Unit, Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, who stated that “these monies that the entity gives to people affected by the conflict, they are part of the just recognition to which they are entitled for having experienced the vexations of war in our department. It is a great effort by the national government to meet the victims of conflict in Cauca, so I invite to al lof you to make good use of that money, remembering that in this case the entity will provide them with adequate investment advice on resources, in accordance with their life projects”.
The official indicated that the delivery of letters worth more than $ 260 million is in addition to the 81 compensations that were made in the middle of the mandatory isolation due to COVID 19, for a value close to $ 709 million.
