During 2020, more than $ 14.6 billion in compensation has delivered the Unit to victims in Magdalena Medio
The entity projects the delivery of 140 drafts of administrative compensation in October, for a value that exceeds $ 1.030 million, to victims residing in municipalities of this region.

This year, in the Magdalena Medio region, the Victims Unit has delivered close to $ 14.6 billion in compensation to 1.673 victims of armed conflict, most of whom reside in the municipalities of Barrancabermeja (Santander), Morales, San Pablo and Santa Rosa del Sur (Bolívar).
According to Amparo Chicué Cristancho, Magdalena Medio territorial director of the Victims Unit, “we have carried out a strong work of articulation with the territorial entities and municipal authorities, to comply with the biosecurity protocols required by the health emergency and that are implemented in the timing of the delivery of notification of the administrative compensation orders”.
"We have also provided support and advice for the appropriate investment of resources by telephone, inviting people to invest in their productive projects, acquisition or improvement of housing, or in education with the money they receive for compensation", added the official.
In October, the entity is scheduled to deliver 140 transfers of administrative compensation, for a value that exceeds $ 1.030 million, to victims residing in municipalities of Magdalena Medio.
Attention to victims
On the other hand, the territorial director of the Unit assured that, between January and now, the entity has treated more than 80.000 victims and about 171.000 requests were received.
"It should be clarified that until March 20 the different points of attention were attended in person and as of March 24, on the occasion of the measures adopted by the health emergency, we began to do it through virtual channels and by telephone", added Amparo Chicué.
"Telephone attention was being provided through 11 lines, but in recent days two more have been added in the municipalities of Arenal (3003668318) and Río Viejo (3162873841)", added the official.
Finally, the director of Magdalena Medio Unit indicated that in the municipalities that have points of attention to victims, the attention will continue to be telephone and virtual, while the conditions of reopening are studied together with the mayors.
