Caldas will be an example of what the government wants regarding compensation for victims

In the middle of CONSTRUYENDO PAÍS (building a country) workshop organized by the Presidency of the Republic in the city of Manizales, the director of Victims Unit Ramón Rodríguez, revealed that investments in the department of Caldas have reached close to 120 billion pesos. "Of those 120 billion pesos, following the instructions, 66 percent have been invested to strengthen the whole issue of compensation and 33 percent have been allocated to humanitarian aid issues," he revealed.

Precisely, facing the issue of compensation for victims of conflict, the director of the entity revealed that throughout the country "the number and investment made should be greater in the issue of compensation than in humanitarian aid; This is a way to build a country, "according to the instructions of the national government.

During the 21st version of CONSTRUYENDO PAÍS workshop, Ramón Rodríguez talked and listened to each of victims, and announced that with an investment of close to 160 million it is expected that in April 2019 the work will be delivered that will allow the adaptation and opening of the Regional Center for the care of victims in the city of Manizales.

Facing the issue of the extension of Law 1448 of 2011, the director of Victims Unit said: "Our goal is to work responsibly to meet the victims and not generate false expectations."
