The “Building a Country” workshop was held in Quibdo

With cultural events, typical of the Pacific zone, children and youth of Quibdó, Chocó, welcomed the President of the Republic Iván Duque and the director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, as part of “Building a Country” Workshop.

At the Bladimiro Garcés Coliseum in Quibdó, workshop number 14, Building a Country, led by the President of the Republic, Iván Duque, was held. The president of Colombians was accompanied by the High Councilor for the Regions, Karen Abudinem; the members of his cabinet, the national director of Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez Andrade; the Governor of Chocó, Jhovany Carlos Alberto Palacios; the mayor of Quibdó, Isaías Chalá Ibarguen, as well as the 30 burgomasters of the department.

During the workshop, the director of Unit, Susana Correa director of PROSPERIDAD COLOMBIA and the High Councilor for the Regions, Karen Abudinen, delivered seven letters of compensation for a value of $ 60 million to victims of armed conflict.

"This workshop is an opportunity to respond to the requests of victims in relation to the work done at the tables, where they asked us to extend the Victims Law and where the recovery of traditions in Bojayá was also discussed," Rodríguez Andrade said.

On the other hand, José de la Cruz Valencia, member of the May 2 committee of Bojayá, stated that: "we need that victims reparation not to leave it solely in the hands of the Unit, but integral and involving other competent entities; we also require accompaniment and opportunities in higher education for our young people. "

In the middle of the commemoration of the 71 years of institutionality of Chocó, the director of Victims Unit socialized the Online Unit strategy, which will allow Victims to have better access to the status of their cases.
