In Bolívar, Valle, the Unit contributed $ 202.3 million for community works in 2018

In the Intersectoral Committee of Rapid Response to Early Warnings for Humanitarian Risks, held in the municipality of Valle del Cauca, the Victims Unit presented what it did last year for the victims of armed conflict in terms of prevention.

The Victims Unit gave priority in 2018 to the municipality of Bolívar, Valle del Cauca, for social and community investment projects, for a value of $ 202,380,868, as part of the strategy of prevention of humanitarian risks due to armed conflict.

The projects supported were: supply of furniture for the Multimodal Center of La Aguada township, and supply of materials for the construction of the Community Integration Center in the village of La Tulia.

A Multimodal Center is a space for community activities, with an emphasis on prevention, which serves as a shelter when a displacement occurs.

The information was provided by the Unit during the Intersectoral Committee for rapid response to early warnings related to humanitarian risks due to armed conflict.

Likewise, the Unit assisted technically the municipality of Bolívar in updating the Contingency Plan for the care of humanitarian emergencies.

In this way, the entity responded to analyzes made in relation to the Warning of Imminence of Violation Risk of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, issued by the Ombudsman's Office on January 23.

Bolívar has 14 thousand inhabitants, of which 1,128 are included in the Unified Registry of Victims administered by the Unit.

In that municipality during 2018 there were 133 cases of individual displacement, according to the National Registry of Information, due to threats, extortion, fear, homicides, among other factors as a result of the actions of illegal armed groups.

In 2018, in Valle del Cauca, the Victims Unit allocated about $ 1,417 million to support in subsidiarity (when the mayor's office and the government do not have the resources to do so) the delivery of immediate humanitarian aid, following the occurrence of due emergencies to conflict.
