
56 victims of armed conflict were compensated in Barranquilla
The Victims Unit in the Atlantic made effective the measure of administrative reparation by handing out check letters to victims of armed conflict recognized and included for acts of homicide and forced displacement.


A total of 56 victims of the armed conflict due to the acts of homicide and forced displacement were administratively compensated by the Victims' Unit with a total investment equivalent to more than $ 321 million pesos.
The delivery of 56 letters of checks was carried out in a double day at the facilities of Atlantic Territorial Directorate located in Barranquilla, which was attended by victim families living in the city and other municipalities such as Soledad, Malambo, Galapa, Sabanagrande, Sabanalarga and Ponedera.
"With the financial education talks they gave us, they helped us to think a lot about how invest this resource, so we are going to take advantage of it to improve the business of lunches that we have in the house, they make us missing tables to serve more customers and a tent for when the rainy season comes, however, we also want to see the option of being able to get our own house because we have been living renting since we moved. "

"I would like to go back to a plot or my father's farm to work the land, but we cannot. This country needs to continue working for peace, hopefully the groups that are still generating death and violence in the country give their arms to twist and realize that with weapons nothing is achieved.
The victims included in the Single Registry for acts of homicide receive 40 SMLMV, divided among the relatives of victim who died, depending on their marital status at the time of death, while the victims of forced displacement under the Judgment SU-254 of 2013, there will be family cores that will receive 27 SMLMV and others that will receive 17 SMLMV.
The Victims' Unit with this economic compensation seeks to help strengthen or rebuild the life projects of the victims who access this measure.
