The Unit socialized advances in collective reparation, in Rionegro (Santander)

The Victims Unit visited this municipality to follow up on the different strategies it develops with the population affected by the conflict.

In compliance with the health security protocols, the Victims Unit in Santander, headed by the territorial director Gonzalo García, arrived in the municipality of Rionegro to develop an agenda with the community of San Rafael de Lebrija, a district of the municipality near Magdalena Medio.

During the conference, which was attended by the municipal mayor, the representative and leaders of the victims' participation tables, the goals developed and to be met in the collective reparation strategy that is being carried out in the municipality were discussed. Advice was also provided to the community on different issues, such as access to service channels and notification processes for letters of compensation.

“These dialogue exercises with the victims that the Unit carries out are very good, I am grateful and happy because the integration between the Mayor's Office and the national government is seen to seek that we are taken into account. We take careful note and hope that they continue to repeat these spaces”, said Víctor Luna, coordinator of the Rionegro Victims Participation Table.

For his part, the mayor of Rionegro, Rubén Villabona, highlighted the Unit's commitment to be present in the most remote municipalities in which they are developedrepair activities. "These actions guarantee the victims that they will be heard and all their requests will be answered", said the president.
