Unit meets satisfaction measure for victims in Genoa (Quindío)
The victim community of this municipality received the special web "Gallery of Memory Genoa, Quindío", framed in the process of collective reparation.
The Victims Unit, through its territorial director, Laura Moreno Mejía, and the professional of collective reparation, delivered to the victim community of the municipality of Genoa the special web “Gallery of Memory Genova, Quindío”, as a measure of satisfaction of the Comprehensive Collective Repair Plan that is being carried out in this area of the country.
“We are very happy to be here again with you, moving forward in the measures of collective reparation process that the Unit implements in conjunction with the impulse committee, a team made up of an excellent group of people that little by little and after several months of The work has been representing the victims of the municipality, making progress in several of the proposed exercises”, said Moreno Mejía.
The special web "Gallery of Memory Genova, Quindío", is a product that forms the satisfaction measures agreed with the community, which is part of the gallery process that delivered the Unit in physics on November 26, 2018 and that It was located in the House of Culture, a place that was built with the contributions and inputs of people affected by armed conflict that inhabit the municipality.
This measure of the web version of the gallery will be published in the pages of the Unit and the municipality, as well as in the social networks of both entities, achieving the greatest possible impact between own and strangers.
“I am very satisfied as Secretary of Government and as an inhabitant of the municipality of Genova for the implementation of this measure, an important tool for everyone to know the history of our territory, history that we do not want to repeat and which we take to show that we are full of thriving people and wanting to get ahead”, said Laura Osorio, as secretary of Government of Genova.
"This work that we have been doing in our municipality reflects much of the history that we had to suffer because of the armed conflict, fortunately it is a war that we have been overcoming and today we have as a municipality a totally different connotation", said Luis Fernando Ceballos, member of the impulse committee.
The territorial director also thanked all those who have helped in this process to bring it to fruition, including the Municipal Office, the mayor's office of Andrés Campuzano and of course the members of the committee with their physical contributions and exercises memory.
Finally, Carmelina Ortega, another victim who is part of the committee emphasized: “We are very grateful to the Unit for all the work done in conjunction with the victims, they have been complying with the whole issue of collective reparation and we feel repaired as a community, we must continue working hand in hand to achieve the proposed goals this year”.
In addition to using the gallery so that people know the chronology of violence in Genova, the victims wanted to send five messages through this special website, accompanied by photographs: 1. It is a violence that should never be repeated. 2. We do not want our children in the present to live what our children lived in the past. 3. We have rebuilt many times. 4. There are ties that the conflict could never break. 5. This is also Genova.
