The repair process with the community of Mohán and Turbay, in Santander, has been completed
The inhabitants of these Suratá townships were satisfied with the actions that the Unit implemented in their territories, six years after the opening of the collective subject.
With two acts in the main parks of the townships of Mohán and Turbay, the measures implemented by the Victims Unit in the subject since 2014 were closed. This closure of the comprehensive collective reparation plan in Suratá was attended by the municipal Mayor's Office, the Attorney General of the Nation and the ombudsman of the municipality.
In the first phase of the process, the reconstruction of the social network was completed with the Entrelazando strategy, with the participation of young people, the elderly, women and men from the community. In 2014 the phases of enlistment, diagnosis of psychosocial damage and participatory planning were carried out.
During this stage, a program for community mothers was implemented for the community of Turbay and El Mohán, in coordination with ICBF, for the benefit of the children of these two townships.
Health
Three health brigades were developed in 2014, 2016 and 2018, in the town of Turbay, with the services of general medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, optometry and hairdressing services. In the three brigades, an average of 600 people was attended.
Educational offers
During the implementation of the subject, the Unit, together with other SNARIV entities, sought the integration of the inhabitants of Mohán and Turbay through scholarships and courses at SENA.
Endowments and infrastructure improvements
The Victims Unit also contributed to the infrastructure development of Mohán and Turbay scenarios, such as the construction of the Mohán playground, the improvement and provision of biomedical elements of the health post, in addition to the donation of materials for the construction of a sports center that will serve for recreation and leisure in these two townships of Suratá.
Uber Socha, a member of the Mohán and Turbay Weavers Committee, ratified the commitment that the Victims Unit had throughout the process of implementing the collective reparation plan in the area: “We are very grateful because everything they did was noticed. the Unit here, we feel that it fulfilled. Today we finished, but we hope we keep in touch”.

Throughout the process in Mohán and Turbay, strategies for artistic strengthening were also implemented, such as the recording of audiovisual material with musical groups from these territories. In addition, the Unit focused on preserving identity and non-repetition, with the "Turbay, Memory and Resistance" card, and the installation of plaques in the main parks of each of the townships in homage to the victims of the conflict who died in the zona.
“Today we culminate the actions of the Unit in the townships of Mohán and Turbay, where we ratify the commitment that the Unit has had in the work of repairing the victims collectively and individually throughout the department, we are pleased to arrive here to finish a satisfactory process”, stated Gonzalo García Bautista, territorial director of the Unit in Santander.
The Victims Unit continues with the phases of implementation of subjects of collective reparation in other municipalities of the department, such as Simacota, Málaga and Charalá.
