Institutions and organizations accompany the municipality of Norosí in preparing a report for the JEP

This municipality in the department of Bolívar is subject to collective reparation by the Victims Unit.

In order to advise and accompany the municipality of Norosí in the preparation of a report for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), on the events that occurred in that municipality in the framework of the armed conflict, a meeting was held between a group institutions, organizations and members of the community of that town located in the South of Bolívar.

The meeting, which took place virtually, was attended by representatives of the Municipal Mayor's Office, the Norosí Collective Reparation Subject, the Municipal Committee for the Participation of Victims, as well as the Mapp OEA, the Magdalena Development and Peace Program Medio, the Office of the Delegate Prosecutor for Follow-up to the Peace Agreement, the JEP and the Magdalena Medio territorial direction of the Victims Unit.

“The meeting mainly dealt with the components that the report should have and the type of events that should be addressed in it; Let's say it was like a kind of first enlistment for the Administration and the Norosí community”, assured Amparo Chicué Cristancho, Magdalena Medio territorial director of the Victims Unit.

During the meeting, the municipality of Norosí promised to hire a consultant to prepare this report for the JEP, while the rest of the entities and organizations indicated that they will support and stimulate a process with the information that each one can provide such report.
